The Liebster Award 2018

Liebster Award 2018
They say three times the charm and so this post is in response to being nominated by Candace of for the Liebster Award. Similar to the other two nominations, this came as a very pleasant surprise to me. As bloggers, we spend days plotting new posts, taking and editing photographs, editing posts, keeping up with social media and attempting to stay on top of so many things along with our life responsibilities. It’s a full and at times overflowing plate but ultimately, blogging is driven by the desire to create.
The Liebster Award rules:
Acknowledge the blog that gave you the award – send them love!
Answer 11 Questions that the blogger gives you
Give 11 random facts about yourself
Nominate 11 blogs and notify them that you dig them
Give them 11 Questions to answer
In response to Candace’s questions
1. What’s your biggest fear?
Fire and lizards.
2. Do you prefer reading or writing?
I love both of these but I’ll say reading.
3. Have you ever travelled outside of your country?
Yes, I have.
4. What is the one thing that you love to shop for the most?
You can, or maybe I should say I can never have enough makeup.
5. What is your favourite holiday?
I loved, loved Christmas when I was growing up. As an adult, it is so different but it still comes out ahead for me.
6. Do you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert?
 Textbook introvert.
7. How do you come up with new blog topics?
It depends on several things. My topics usually come about based on the current season, or a product I’m loving even if the product is not on-trend.
8. Who inspires you?
I’m inspired by stories so it’s hard to pin down a single person. I’ll simply say I’m inspired by tenacity, which is a common thread in the stories of inspiring people.
9. What was your favourite school subject?
I loved, loved my history classes, which was also helped by having exceptional history teachers.
10. How long have you known your best friend?
It’s going on four years now.
11. Who was your first celebrity crush?
I may be telling my age here but it was the boy band Menudo. I had a poster of them and thought they were all cute.
11 Random Facts About Me
  1. Each afternoon, I drink a pot of tea or a cup depending on how busy I am.
  2. I feel a bit lost without music in the background.
  3. I’ve read Jane Eyre more than six times.
  4. When I was twelve, I went deep-sea diving and I’m hoping to work up the courage to do it again.
  5. Around the age of six or so, I made the decision to not go to class a few times because I preferred being outside. So I found little corners of the schoolyard to hang out in without anyone bothering me. I think I may have admitted this to my mother a couple of years ago. Daddy if you’re reading this, you know now.
  6. In terms of clothing, I don’t wear trousers ever in public, even if it’s freezing outside.
  7. There’s a dishwasher in my kitchen that is never used. I prefer to hand-wash the wares.
  8. I was not born in the country I live in.
  9. My secondary/high school was Girls only.
  10. Some years ago while visiting the North of France, we stopped at a random field to have an impromptu picnic. In that field was also a memorial where the remains of soldiers from the first World War are buried. The evening wore on and we didn’t feel like driving back to the house, so we kept eating and drinking and ended up sleeping in the car then headed home in the morning.
  11. The number of times I’ve listened to Despacito, the original version by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankeewill only increase.

This Liebster Award post was fun to put together. The blogs nominated above are all a great effort and resource by their creators. These nominees put so much heart into their blogs making each a joy to read. While the nominees are at different points in their blogging careers, their dedication comes through in what they’ve created so far, which is why I keep reading. Here’s to wishing each person behind the blogs I nominated continued enthusiasm and success for their blogs.
