Chanel Ultra Le Teint Ultrawear All-Day Comfort Flawless Foundation Review and Swatch

Chanel has newly launched Ultra Le Teint Ultrawear All-Day Comfort Flawless Finish Foundation in 30 shades. This is a new-generation formula, long-wearing foundation that leaves skin looking life-like, bright and perfected but not flat and devoid of its natural contours and character.

Oil-free and formulated with soft-focus powders, it glides onto the skin easily whether using fingers, a brush or a sponge. Personally, I like applying it with a brush or with a flat sponge if I’m in a hurry. Chanel has also managed to include a film-forming component in the formula that adds to the brightened, perfected look this delivers.

Chanel’s Ultra Le Teint does not contain SPF and they also kept the fragrance to a minimum which I really appreciate. In addition to that, it doesn’t leave my dry skin feeling tight or uncomfortable despite this being a long-wearing formula. I knew this was an exceptional foundation after wearing it to an event that lasted virtually all day, not including the time I spent getting ready. I prepped my skin using Chanel’s Hydra Beauty Micro Serum [reviewed here] then layered a sample of YSL Youth Liberator Y-Shape Concentrate over that, then followed with the foundation.

At no point during the day did I have to blot my skin nor did I see signs of it breaking apart even though I was wearing quite a bit of makeup including blush, bronzer, highlighter and powder.

Ultra Le Teint has a light fluid texture that doesn’t oxidise and with 30 shades on offer, it’s good to see Chanel making greater strides in making their complexion products more inclusive. I initially chose the shade BD101 (deeper with warmer undertones) but exchanged that for BD91 which has more golden-yellow undertones. Housed in a glass bottle with a pump top, the packaging is user-friendly and dispenses the right amount of product.

If your skin has textural issues or if it’s peeling from the use of acids, retinoids or Differin in my case, the foundation won’t completely conceal the peeling but my skin still looked better with Ultra Le Teint in contrast to other foundations that emphasise texture much more.

For a long-wearing formula, Ultra Le Teint never feels heavy, sticky, nor drying. And despite the fact this is touted as a matte formula, it manages to deliver a level of luminosity. But if peak luminosity is more your preference, I reviewed the new foundation from Guerlain [in this post].

According to Chanel, Ultra Le Teint has been formulated to last up to 24 hours and ‘lasts in even the most environmentally strenuous conditions‘. Which means that it should resist water, sebum and humidity. With claims like this, I anticipate using this foundation in warmer temperatures with the full expectation of it holding up.

While every Chanel beauty point of sale may not stock all 30 shades, full availability can be found on
